St. Louis to Open Second Home

St Louis Front

L’Arche St. Louis has purchased a second home and plans to welcome three or four adults who have intellectual disabilities (known as “core members”) to live there in 2016. The half-acre property is located in Maplewood, a neighborhood just outside the St. Louis city limits, and is about a mile from the community’s first home. It consists of six bedrooms, and has sufficient space on the lower level to open a small workshop to provide daytime work and activities for the core members.

St Louis BackSome construction and small repairs are necessary to accommodate the new core members and live-in assistants who will be joining the community. If building permits and work can be completed as scheduled, the community anticipates opening the home in January or February 2016.
