Tim Shriver of Special Olympics calls for a Dignity Revolution

TimTim Shriver, Chairman and CEO of Special Olympics, opened the June 2012 L’Arche International General Assembly in Atlanta with a call for a “dignity revolution.” In his keynote address, Tim began by saying “I welcome you all to what I think of as a Dignity Revolution. I believe that L’Arche is at the center of a revolution… It’s not just a program, it’s not just a community, it’s a revolution because you are challenging the world to see itself differently…” Tim went on to say, “L’Arche is like a diamond. I have been to many places all over the world. No one has what you have: the depth of forgiveness of yourselves, the depth of compassion for one another, the depth of simplicity, the depth of openness and love and welcome that exists in L’Arche…You are the living example and role model of what I believe the world is hungry for.”
